In Reflexology the whole body is represented on the feet in areas called reflexes. For example, the area under the little toe (in dark yellow) represents the shoulders, the neck (in green) is around the base of the big toe. Reflexology is the technique of applying pressure to the reflexes on the feet. Where areas are bumpy or slightly painful, this indicates an imbalance in the organ. By working areas that are bumpy or painful, you body is returned to a state of balance.
Having a reflexology treatment is extremely pleasurable and it is thought the treatment encourages the body to realease its own endorphins, which create a great feeling of wellbeing.
Reflexology is also deeply deeply relaxing. By giving the body time this "time out", the body's own healing processes are stimulated which can help you to return to a state of balance and well being. |
